Track Guide Builder

Track Guide Builder

ACC Tools provides the Track Guide Builder to help you record how you drive a track in a specific car.

At the top of the Track Guide Builder you can select the Track/Car combination you want to view, create or edit your Track Guide. When you change the selection in either of the lists the map will update to show the selected track and any existing guide will be loaded.

The map is provided by OpenStreetMaps and is fully interactable, allowing you to zoom and pan.

Markers are added to the map for each corner and for pit entry and exit points.

Clicking on any marker will display a popup displaying the current guide entries. In the image above you can see that all entries are Not Set, this is because a Track Guide for the selected Track/Car combination has not been created, which is indicated in the panel to the right of the map.

Create A Track Guide

The area to the right of the map is where you create and edit the Track Guide for the selected Track/Car combination.

The message displayed in this area tells you what you need to do.

Clicking the Create button creates an empty Track Guide in the database and changes the section to display a form for adding entries for the first corner. The following information can be captured for each marker on the map.

  • Braking Reference
  • Turn In Reference
  • Exit Reference
  • Gear
  • Speed
  • Comments

After entering values for the fields click the Save button before moving on to the next marker.

After saving select the next marker from the drop down list labelled Corner. (You can also click a marker on the map to change the selection)

Repeat these steps until your Track Guide is complete. Once the entries have been saved for a marker, clicking on it in the map will show the popup with the entries populated as well as loading them into the form for editing.

Sharing Track Guides

Once you have created Track Guide you can share it with other drivers by exporting it to a JSON file. This file can be shared with other drivers through email, Google Drive, Drop Box, OneDrive or any other means you prefer. Sharing through a channel on a Discord or similar community server is a good way to share with a team.

Shared guides can only be imported as a Track Guide. When you select a Track/Car combination that does not have an existing guide the Import button will be available.

Once you click the Import button and select a shared file it will be imported into ACC Tools and loaded into Track Guide Builder.
